Abuse and other stuff…

November 18th, 2008

Hi!

We ware noticing abusive use of our service for quite some time now. As it hurt our performance and the quality of service we decided to introduce some security enhancements. By blocking a few bots wich mass mirrored useless file through our site we were able to reduce our bandwidht usage significantly. It shouldn’t now take so long to create mirrors of your files.

Replying to the developer API request I must say that we are not keen on it mainly due to the abussive usage. We will think it through nevertheless. We will keep you posted in case something changes. In any case please inform us which programming languages you would like to see API usage examples for.

New update

October 18th, 2008

Hi all!

First of all I would like to thank everyone who takes some effort to help us make rapidspread.com better. Your input is appreciated and we work to make at least a few of your wishes come true. We had some issues in the last few weeks so the development wasn’t going as fast as we would like to but finally we managed to incinerate some bugs. The missing links problem, and a few Internet Explorer issues should be now gone. Not much but it’s at least a step (well… a very tiny one :) ) towards a new better future :)

Missing links

September 21st, 2008

Our support page was quite busy recently answering to bug reports about missing links after upload. It was quite hard to trackdown because nobody bothered to send us some info about the browser he/she was using (that’s not a complaint we apreciate every kind of feedback :) ). Until today we weren’t aware of the problems which cause links not to appear under Internet Explorer 6 and Opera. For the time beeing we suggest using Firefox or Internet Explorer 7. We will keep you updated and put up a new post as soon as the IE6 and Opera problems are fixed.

Some info

September 14th, 2008

As you might have noticed we have changed the layout of our site recently. The were also some backend changes wich resulted in some minor glitches wich were reported on our support site. Thank you for your input we are currently working on these bug fixes and hope to provide an even better service in a matter of hours/days at most. We are also working on adding more filehosters to the upload list. If you have any requests for a particulary one just post them in the comments to this.
